A new study by the Halifax shows that we are starting to become a nation of renters, with fewer young people being prepared to spend several years saving for a decent deposit.
According to the bank, the average first time buyer deposit now stands at £26,956. Yet one third of those in the 20-45 age bracket, say that they cannot afford to save anything at all.
