This week saw Mortage Freedom Day (April 13th), the point of the year when homeowners have earned enough to cover their mortgage payments.

At the same time, City AM pointed out that the equivalent date for people renting is a whole month later, putting owning a property into perspective.

According to Zoopla, for 90% of the UK, it is now cheaper to buy a two bedroom property than to rent one.
