House prices back on the rise
13 August, 2013
According to the Office for National Statistics, prices in the year to June rose 3.1% while the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) says the prices are rising at their fastest rate since 2006.
In addition there is evidence that there has been an accelerated take-up of the Government’s Help to Buy Scheme, which allows buyers of new-build homes to put down a 5% deposit and take out a Government loan for up to 20% of the value of the property.
New figures suggest there have been 10,000 registrations under Help to Buy since April.
