3 March, 2021
As expected, the Chancellor announced in today’s Budget that there would be an extension to the stamp duty holiday, as well as support for 95% mortgages.
The SDLT has been extended for another three months, until the end of June. After that date there will be a tapering off of the tax until the end of September.
Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak also announced that the Government would indeed be guaranteeing mortgages of up to 95% Loan to Value, as a way to help first-time buyers.
