Property prices 1.1% higher than a year ago

According to The Nationwide, property prices in the UK are 1.1% higher than they were a year ago.
This is just the latest report showing that confidence is starting to return to the housing market as buyers find it easier to access mortgage finance.
Their chief economist said the rise was down to a number of factors but that the increase would be gradual.
